Year 12 2008 – Carnivore and Mangler – Carnivore was a show about werewolves at war with the forces of the NETHERWORLD, the midpoint of a three year arc of famous classic monsters that had begun with Leviathan. Mangler debuted a tale of a methodical serial killer devoid of human emotion and immune to pain. The character of the Mangler became the de facto icon character of the downstairs show for years to come due to his popularity, and returned as a featured player or at least in a cameo role in all most all of the downstairs haunts from that point forward.<\/p>\n

For long eons the Werewolves had stood at the top of the earthly food chain. Man thought himself the master, an illusion the wolves allowed. How much easier the slaughter when sheep were unsuspecting? But now powerful NETHERWORLD predators dared to challenge the wolves supremacy! There could be only one top dog, only one master of the world of man. In fire and blood the battle would begin here, the battle to determine the greatest CARNIVORE of all!<\/p>\n

Old Long Tooth felt a change in the weather, dark clouds and sudden violent storms, signs and omens foretelling that an ancient struggle was now entering its final chapter. Shrugging off his human form he left mortal infirmities behind and loped through the pine barrens surrounding the old Colber place in the form of a large gray wolf. For many years he had watched the estate, and the periodic \u201cepisodes\u201d that had occurred there\u2026 The rips between worlds that spawned monsters.<\/span><\/p>\n

But this time it was different. Foul things were stirring by day and venturing out of the estate. Creatures of the NETHERWORLD, no matter how powerful should not be able to survive in the light of the sun. Only hybrid half-beings, like the Harvestman and the Collector could exist long in the world of man and the Kin generally gave them a wide berth. As long as they stayed away from the wolves and their business the uneasy truce continued. But now something else had happened to tip the balance, something sinister.<\/span><\/p>\n

Merging science and sorcery, the demon corrupted madman Maximillian Colber had begun creating a force of NETHERWORLD spawned monsters encased in reanimated flesh, an army of Leviathans. Hidden in the forests and marshes Old Long Tooth had watched this army grow, patchwork juggernauts with evil will intent on spreading across the earth. He had alerted the Council, and after much debate, howling and snapping of slavering jaws a course of action was crafted.<\/span><\/p>\n

A pack of War Wolves would be sent to the Colber Mansion, lead by Lord Conrac to tear apart the wizard and his foul creations. To boost their numbers they would \u201cinfect\u201d locals with \u201cthe curse\u201d and direct them into battle with the twisted Netherspawn. Additionally they would be aided by a Chaos witch, Baba Morda, who would call forth the Manatou, \u201cSpirit of the Beast.\u201d This powerful possessing entity could control the minds of both animals and humans, forcing them to follow the wolves into battle. Also if pressed it could manifest as a massive creature, a thing that could go toe to toe with the largest Netherspawn.<\/span><\/p>\n

But this plan was not fool proof. As Long Tooth knew, the estate itself was a \u201cborderland\u201d between dimensions; a place where massive things spawned in the NETHERWORLD could exist and roam free. The Werewolves are mighty warriors, it is true, but did they understand what horrors, spirits and reanimated monsters dwelled in the twisting caverns beneath the mansion?<\/span><\/p>\n
