WAKE THE DEAD!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n When the dark overlords of the NETHERWORLD forced the massive monstrosity Ubbo Sathla to summon its foul progeny (as detailed in the 2022 Netherworld Haunt, <\/span>The Undying Horror<\/i><\/b>) none would have thought that this same power could be used by it to rip into the elemental realms and bring primordial life from the dimensions of <\/span>Water<\/b>,<\/span> Fire<\/b>, <\/span>Earth<\/b> and <\/span>Ice<\/b> into our world. (as revealed in the 2023 Netherworld Haunt <\/span>Primordial<\/i><\/b>)<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Such vibrant elemental energy is the only thing that can hold back the darkness from beyond and keep the barriers between worlds strong, but this energy is also what stimulates the NETHERWORLD’s eternal hunger to consume life!<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0As the invading Primordials foolishly battled each other for dominance, two other groups lurking on the sidelines made preparations to seize the elemental power for their own!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Brotherhood of Rhomb<\/b>, a battle hardened faction of human warriors, the protectors of the town of Whyshburg were the first to strike. They began capturing elementals weakened in combat and siphoning off their energy to create an army of modified half human fighters. The Brotherhood plans to use these mutated shock troops and a powerful doomsday weapon to crush the invading undead forces and blast the gateway to the NETHERWORLD closed forever!<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Legion of Shadows,<\/b> the ruling force of undead in the NETHERWORLD had long watched greedily from the Sepulcher of Shadows, their evil fortress beneath lost Carcosa. They had a more direct and sweeping plan to deal with the Primordials: feast on them all and use the energy consumed to wake all of those who have ever died and create an army of a billion corpses!<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Led by the triumvirate of <\/span>Necrotis,<\/b> Queen of The Vampires, <\/span>Nergal, <\/b>Emperor of The Restless Dead and <\/span>Mortus, <\/b>High Priest of Wraiths and Spirits, they schemed to lead a shock force of Vampires, Wraiths and Restless Dead to seize the energy giving them the power to return to the NETHERWORLD itself and overthrow their dread masters with their now endless horde!<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0As the vast armies of rotted corpses emerged from tombs long sealed, slowly crawled from beneath the mountain, they were not prepared for the heavily fortified Brotherhood of Rhomb defending the town using weaponry and energy already drained from captured Primordials. Using every precious second the Brotherhood consumed more power from their captives and performed increasingly more twisted experiments to hold back the Dead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Surprised by the unexpected resistance, Necrotis retreated to summon more of her Vampires, Mortius massed a vortex of spirits in an old abandoned church, and Nergal returned to the NETHERWORLD to pull more skeletal armies and even more deadly allies from the foul pits of Xog.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In an unexpected move the Elementals of Water lead by <\/span>Thalassa<\/b> disengaged from the fight and dived directly into the NETHERWORLD itself, claiming a section of the Netherscape as their own!<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The board is set and the pieces are in motion – battles will be fought and won, but by whom?
