The Tale Of The Undying Horror!

Chapter One: The Spreading Corruption

Under the cover of the storm of shadows, the armies of the NETHERWORLD led by the Berserkers and the Rabid smashed their way through earth’s defenses as the malstrom continued to grow. Now awakened by the dark sorcery of the Ganoga, The Undying Horror known as Ubbo Sathala began its attack! From its home in the darkest pits of Carcosa, far below the mountain, this ancient monstrosity extended its tendrils up into the skies and back down to the earth to begin the conversion of the planet. Everywhere one of these slime covered appendages landed the ground began to rot, taking on the form and characteristics of the NETHERWORLD itself! Now gateways could be easily opened and foul creatures spawned to expand the corruption growing rapidly in the swirling mists. As more and more tentacles reached down from the sinister storm, legions of howling wraiths began to advance accompanied by hordes of Netherspawn surging forward in a blood thirsty rampage. Finally released from their prisons of molten rock, the Undying, the ancient lords of Carcosa, crawled out of the corpse city to wreak a terrible vengeance on all that might cross their paths!

Chapter Two: An Unlikely Plan from the Illuminati

Several years ago in a top secret facility known as the BOX, an unplanned experiment cracked open the gateway to a strange dimension known as Planet X. The transformative energies released on that day began the rapid mutation and growth of the Plant and Fungus based samples that were housed there creating a singular Parasitic organism that could be used in both food and oxygen production as long as it was carefully contained. In the last few days as the spreading storm of shadows began to grow unabated and consumed the entire town of Whyshburg, members of the Brotherhood of Rhomb, an offshoot of the Illuminati reached out to one of the scientists at the BOX, Otto Gloman, a secret Illuminati member and asked for his assistance. Anton Varla, the Leader of the Brotherhood of Rhomb, had previously contacted the Witches of Cernunnos for guidance in the fight against the NETHERWORLD. They believed that an abundance of vigorous and healthy earthly plant life, in particular plant life originating from a rare elemental seed pod that they provided, could win the day. Gloman and Varla theorized that if this pod was exposed to the Parasitic life form contained at the BOX, the transformed elemental seed could infect The Undying Horror and cause it to birth plant life on a massive scale that would nullify and repel the deathlike corruption spreading from the NETHERWORLD. After infecting Ubbo Sathla his strike force of monster slaying commandos would attack the Ganoga and disrupt the Storm of Shadows, exposing the creatures of the NETHERWORLD once more to the rays of the sun and defeating the evil forces with one decisive victory!

Chapter Three: Bad Day in the BOX

Gloman agreed and exposed the Elemental Pod to the Parasitic life form changing both forever. The experiment was a huge success and the squirming pod was rushed to Varla in a desperate attempt to stop the NETHERWORLD invasion. However at the BOX things didn’t quite go as planned as the Parasitic life form given new purpose by the seed pod began infecting the entire staff and grew the Plant and Fungus specimens to enormous size, rapidly overwhelming the facility. The Brotherhood of Rhomb were now on their own as Gloman and his staff fought a lopsided battle against nature run amok!

Chapter Four: An Unlikely Alliance

Into the howling storm the battered remnants of The Brotherhood of Rhomb advanced, but Varla knew he would need some help to get his viral plant creature into the lair of Ubbo Sathla far below the Mountain. He reached out to sometime allies and/or foes, The Zombie Queen and Gerhard Dorn, The Alchemist. With her mastery of the undead and his of arcane science the unlikely allies began to fight their way to the source of the corruption. Would they arrive in time? Would this crazy plan have any chance of success? Or would the very Earth itself be changed forever by the twisting tentacles of The Undying Horror!
